Welcome to Gala Performance Racing.
Welcome to Gala Performance Racing.
Gala Performance is a brand which was born of a sponsorship deal between Gala Tent and the now-World Endurance Championship title holders United Autosports, but it has endured and indeed grown every year in the past five years due to the undoubted passion and love for motorsport that we have. It only took a couple of years for our directors to swap the glitz and glamour of VIP hospitality suites for the dirt and oil of the pit garage. Here’s an overview into the directors of Gala Performance, and the drivers of Gala Performance Racing.

Our Team
Mark Thompson
Mark is the successful MD of Gala Tent Ltd, helping to build the business from humble beginnings to a multi-million pound market leader. A shrewd businessman with an intense passion for motor racing, Mark was key to founding Gala Performance in 2016, combining almost two decades of business expertise with a lifetime of passion for racing. Following completion of his racing licence along with fellow racer Andrew, both decided to dive into the world of competitive racing and the Gala Performance Motorsport team was born.
Andrew Scott
Andrew has been a key member of the Gala family for well over sixteen years. As the Procurement Director for both Gala Tent and Gala Performance, Andy knows the business inside and out. He is also keen racer with a passion for motorsport. Andrew is often out at the track with Mark Thompson whether it be just for fun or practicing for their next race.
Nathan Lord
Nathan joined the GP team in 2016 and is now responsible for the day-to-day running as well as our Social Media Pages. He has held an avid interest in Motorsport and as a result of his hard work and dedication, he was helped by our Directors Mark and Andrew to gain his ARDS licence. Nathan made his racing debut in the C1 Racing Club’s C1 Challenge at Donington Park in June 2022, representing Gala Performance Racing. He’s looking forward to using the first season’s progress as a platform to improve from in 2024.

Our Car
Our car is a standard first generation Citroen C1 It boasts a hearty 1l engine with no modifications made to enhance power or handling. A few club supplied tweaks are allowed on the suspension to help reduce tyre wear but other than that, the only modifications which have been made are to increase safety such as the full MSA approved roll-cage, harness etc. The aim is to create all cars equal to ensure no one has an unfair advantage but instead rely on driver skill, pit strategies which makes for a more interesting sport.
